The neighborhood
Saltgrass Cottage sits on a quiet residential street in Mount Pleasant, the coastal town just across the Ravenel Bridge from downtown Charleston. Downtown and the historic peninsula are about 10 minutes away; the beaches at Sullivan's Island and Isle of Palms are about 15. In between you have Shem Creek (shrimp boats, dolphins, and the waterfront restaurants), the Old Village, and Patriots Point. Trader Joe's is 1.3 miles from the door, with Mount Pleasant Towne Centre close by for anything you forget to pack.

- What happens after I click Book direct?
- A quick step asks who's coming and how to reach you. Then you're taken to our booking system's secure payment page showing the same itemized total as your quote; nothing is charged until you confirm there. Once payment completes, your dates are locked on our calendar (the one Airbnb and Vrbo sync from) and you get a confirmation right away. Check-in details like directions, lockbox, and Wi-Fi arrive before arrival.
- Is this really the same home as on Airbnb?
- Yes — same house, same calendar, same hosts. You can compare it against our Airbnb listing side by side. Booking direct just removes the platform between us.
- How much does booking direct save?
- Two ways. Nightly rates are 5% lower when you book direct, taken off automatically in your quote with no code to enter. And Airbnb adds a guest service fee, typically around 14% of the booking subtotal, that does not exist here. On a $1,500 stay that is roughly $200 of service fee you skip plus about $70 off the rent, a couple hundred dollars less all in. Cleaning fee and taxes are the same either way.
- What do nightly rates run?
- From about $163 a night in the slow season to $450 and up in peak weeks. Whatever the season, booking direct takes 5% off nightly rates automatically. Pick dates on the calendar for your exact total.
